Lava Ocean Entry

The lava rivers had cooled and stopped flowing since I was here in April. This time, the only flowing lava was exiting a tube in the cliff face and hitting the ocean, where it reacted violently with the water. The explosive steam periodically blasted chunks of molten rock in all directions.

I was 100 feet away, and the heat was sufficient to evaporate the rain off my tripod and melt my umbrella.
