Gazing into Orion

I hiked into the Hidden Dunes in Death Valley. We weren't planning to camp in the dunes, but the night was eerily still, so we tested our luck. We were somewhat shocked to not get sandblasted that night.

 

There were thin clouds which diffused the starlight, and this made for rare photos showing the colors of stars.
