Ocean Entry
I biked out to where the lava was entering the ocean last night. After photographing sunset, I waited for the Milky Way to appear. Clouds were forming right on its core, so I ended up waiting an hour for it to be revealed for just a couple minutes.
The lava was impressive, but the crowds were truly amazing. I estimate about a thousand people made the 4.5-mile hike to the lava last night--people were still streaming in as I departed at 10 PM.
Shot on a Nikon 14-24 at f/2.8, 14mm. 3 shot HDR manually blended.
