I finally edited together my night timelapse of the observatories and beautiful scenery of Mauna Kea from the last year! It can be viewed at vimeo.com/115364249.
This image is a still frame from one of the timelapse sequences. Both Keck and Subaru are propagating their adaptive optics lasers, and Keck is observing the Orion Nebula, which is a star-forming region. The moon is rising behind the Keck dome in this image, and CFHT is the faraway telescope in the gap between Subaru and Keck.
