Yosemite Valley from the Diving Board

This is the view from the Diving Board at night facing in the opposite direction from Ansel Adams' famous image. Curry Village is in the foreground. The Glacier Point lookout is the headlights 3/4 of the way to the left on the mountain, and the trickle of Yosemite Falls is just visible in the full-res version. The entrance to the Wowona Tunnel is just to the left of El Capitan. The lights of the California Central Valley, a hundred miles away, color the horizon yellow.

I set out my sleeping bag next to this razor edge of rock and slept the night, not particularly concerned that the entire area overhangs a 2000-ft drop.

This is a single 4.5-minute exposure at ISO 3200 and f/2.8 on the Nikon 14-24 at 24mm ghetto-mounted to a Canon 6D.
