Wavy Rocks Beneath the Stars

This is found in a remote area of the Arizona desert--I hiked through the night to reach it. The image is a stack of 80 30-second exposures, for a total exposure time of 40 minutes, on a completely moonless night. I light-painted the rocks with a CTO-gelled headlamp to pull them out of the shadows.

Walking through these awe-inspiring rock formations at night completely took my breath away.
