Crankcase - G.I. Joe A Real American Hero (1985)

I purchased this vintage G.I. Joe action figure (one of a very select few I didn't own when I was a wee lad) for $5 shipped on eBay because it struck me that I had never photographed one of the original Real American Hero figures, which seemed unfortunate.

He's Crankcase, the driver of a dune buggy called the A.W.E. Striker. His file card begins, "There are several ways to get from one place to another in Kansas and driving fast is most of them."

It goes on to say, "Ever get irritable when you're standing in a queue that just doesn't seem to be moving at all? Well the whole world seems to be moving in slow motion to Crankcase--all the time! That's why he's constantly fed-up. He's just not happy unless he has a wheel in one hand, a gear stick in the other and the wind in his face."

I obviously skipped the vehicle and opted for a more generic adventure-themed portrait.

See the first comment below for more photos of Crankcase.
