Shark
Not sure which breed of shark this is. Liam, my youngest son, could tell you, though. Even though he's only 11, that boy knows a heckuva lot about sharks, let me tell you. He can tell at a glance whether a shark's a male or a female. He can name all their fins. He can name the breeds. And more! Makes me wonder if he might eventually go into Oceanography. That'd be cool. He reminds me of myself when I was his age and younger. When I was six, I'd read every book in the school library on dinosaurs. I could tell you more about them back then than I can now. :P LOL! At that age, I was very interested in both paleontology and archaeology, and I could even spell both of them. Over the past couple of years, I've had an interest in eventually taking a trip to South Africa and go shark diving, to see some Great Whites up close. Crazy, I know. :P
This particular photo was taken at a part of the Georgia Aquarium where you walk through a tunnel and look up at the fish as they swim by. When I saw this shark approaching, I started to focus on it and waited until it was directly overhead before I took the photo. Some adjustments were made to the photo, to darken the shark's silhouette and to enhance the reflections of the water's surface surrounding the shark. Then it was cropped.
