Umbra and Penumbra

This is an analogy of you and your ways:

 

You are the shadow.

 

The people you know that you would benefit from, are the lights.

 

You would always show your Penumbra and hide your Umbra when you are in front of them.

Showing how good your ways are, because you know you can get something from them.

 

And for the people that you would not get any?

The total opposite.
