I've made two or three trips up to Loch Lomond over the last few years to try shooting the well known tree at Milarrochy Bay, but never really came away with anything I really liked as the water level was not quite high enough and the tree not fully submerged.
I headed back to shoot the tree again with Rohan Reilly towards the end of last year, and came away with a few nice shots but again the water level whilst higher than before, was not quite as high as we had hoped. Rohan posted a superb image from that day, so I thought I'd hold off and try my luck again further into winter.
We have had so much rainfall up here in Scotland over the last few months, so I headed backup just after New Year and found the water level was so high it was pretty much right up to the car park wall. Finally after many visits the conditions were perfect!
