Eastern Whipbird (Psophodes olivaceus)

These birds do not normally come so close that the whole bird does not fit in the frame but this is O'Reilly's and the normal rules do not apply! The song of the Eastern Whipbird is a duet started by the male, pictured here, and finished by the female. While also observing a Satin Bowerbird bower a whipbird pair was foraging at my practically at my feet. And yes, he is as loud as he looks!
