Difficult to see except in large ... but Ethel is bedded down in the root cavity at the base of this downed tree. It was cool back in the recess and think it probably offered some relief from gnats -- flies etc.
In direct line of sight to my camp and probably 30 - 40 yards up the mountain ... Ethel spent the nights here and would return for naps a few times each day ... taking breaks from foraging.
