Colorado National Monument
by garybaird
On September 14, 2018 I visited Colorado National Monument. Just outside of Grand Junction Co. This national Monument includes 20,500 acres. John Otto in the early 20th century started developing trails on the plateau into the canyons. He loved this area, and is the primary reason for the park today. Colorado National Monument was established on May 24, 1911. John Otto was hired as the first Park Ranger drawing a salary of $1 a month.
