This building which now serves as Sandwell's register office was formerly known as Highfields House. Although this buildings looks as though it is a single unit, it was originally constructed as four houses.
The original properties were built between 1804 and 1839, and taken into the ownership of West Bromwich Corporation in 1922. The memorial garden was added on 1951, and first used as a register office in 1991. It is Grade II listed.
