Tau XV28 Deadlock
This is a unit very rarely seen on battlefields, it's even piloted not by a member of Fire Caste, but of Earth Caste instead. It is meant to perform mine clearing and combat engineering. Additional small manipulators are extremely useful for fine works with sensitive electronics and explosives. An up-armoured carapace made of an unusual modification of nano-crystalline alloy (more dense and much stronger, yet much heavier) provides the highest protection possible, it is said to withstand a simultaneous point blank range fire of several Imperial Knights. These battlesuits are often accompanied by a special type of drones - bugs, they can serve either as reconnaissance units or as kamikaze remote controlled bombs.
Still have lots of WH40K sketches, ideas and incomplete models. And I'm still trying to finish them! Thought these might be more interesting than a couple of MRAPs I originally planned to post. Yeah, these are surely heavily influenced by a modern bomb squad suit with its distinctive neck protection and chunky/bulky appearance. Hope you like them!
