Garlic At last!
When I heard that the Macro Monday theme was veggies I knew I wanted in. I was thinking along the chive/onion/leek line but when I went to the store I didn't see anything that jumped out at me except for a possible shoot with cauliflower against a white background. I decided to pass and kept looking. I started to look into small onions but then I saw a bin with cloves of garlic. I looked through the bin and came across this clove! I found what I was looking for, and at $0.79/clove the price was right. When I presented it to the cashier, he looked at me funny and suggested I get one in better shape because this one had sprouted. I asked him to be careful with it because I wanted to photograph it. He then asked that I wait a minute and kept looking at the clove while he made a phone call. It seems store policy is to throw out cloves like this and in the end I got it for FREE! Free is nice and with that as a backstory here is my macro garlic clove shot.
The clove measures 2.5 (W) X 2.75 (T) and was shot with my: 55mm f/2.8 NIKKOR Micro lens with a two shot stack. Light provided through a south facing window with the clove sitting on some black paper.
Make for MacroMondays group, Vegetable theme.
Now its off to a cup of water for a little more growing and perhaps another shoot in a few weeks!
