Rebecca Klundt - You Are Here [2015]
Rebecca Klundt is a native of Salt Lake City. She graduated with a BFA from Brigham Young University in August 2014. This work is a assemblage of found wood, finished with layers of acrylic paint, resulting in a geometric abstraction artwork. The sides of the artwork are painted and reveal the shape of the found wood the artist used to create this artwork.
“I see a pile or mess and I want to compact the pile, putting it into the tightest possible space and giving it gravity. I love to work two dimensionally because once I have compacted a pile, I can then hang it on a wall where the amount of space it requires is minimal and the space all around it is free and uncluttered.”
