The SIXSQUARE - a ringflash, made from speedlights!

Who needs a FourSquare, if he can have a SIXSQUARE ?!

+ build in one hour for under 50 bucks

+ use the ability to shoot through the hole (= ringflash) or not (= soft large light)

+ more powerful than a Four Square

+ much, much more powerful than Orbis or Rayflash

It only takes 35 bucks for the parts and 1..2 hours work.

TRIGGERING

As this is a ringlight and normally it is used in a way that makes the background nicely visible, you will have some sort of reflective surface right in front of the flashes.

So I use it in a way, that I trigger *one* flashgun via one YN-602 RF module, and the other five are just running as optical slaves ...

LESSONS LEARNED

- use a fire extinguisher as template to bend the rod :-)

- use Loctite Screwlock on all the screws, once it is all in place and fits nicely

- use a longer 1/4'' screw for the base, one made out of steel

- tighten the screws in the little coldshoes **really, reallyl ** well
