Neu im Blog: SKELETON WATCH, MAKING-OF

fotopraxis.net/2015/12/30/skeleton-watch-3/

Focus stack, made from 45 shots, shot not with a focus rail, but via focus variation.

>>> THE LIGHT

Bit hard to explain. Two Neewer LED Lamps, one from above, with a piece of translum foil wrapped around. The other shining as backlight, also through translum foil. The trick is, that in the translum foil of the upper one, there sit also two black cardboard pieces, forming a little adjustable soft slit of light ... See making-of shot in the comments.

>>> THE ROCKS

The wet rocks in the background come from another shot, but were shot under the same light. They were also shot as stack of sth like 12 images, and blurred later-on.

>>> THE DETAILS

I borrowed the rocks from a railway track nearby, dont tell the Bundesbahn! :-) And the clipping path of the watch for the little composite was done by www.clippingfactory.com
