Fred Manget
I was in the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAGC) from 1984 until 2006 as an individual mobilization augmentee ("IMA") in the Army Reserve, and retired with the rank of Colonel. IMAs were attached directly to an active duty JAG or other Army unit to join them in case of mobilization. My assignment upon mobilization was with the Joint Staff at the Pentagon to act as liaison with the Central Intelligence Agency, my civilian position where I served for 26 years in the Office of General Counsel in a variety of assignments, including Deputy General Counsel, Deputy Director of Congressional Affairs, and counsel to the Directorate of Intelligence and the Director of Central Intelligence Counterterrorist, Counterintelligence, and Terrorist Threat Integration Centers. During my service I also supported the Army War College, the U.S. Army Legal Services Agency (USALSA), the Judge Advocate General's School, and the 24th Infantry Division (Mech). My Army JAG duties dovetailed perfectly in knowledge, training and experience in the intelligence world.
