This is the first fall you see right at the end of the trail from the parking lot. Its kinda of amazing, the river up to this point is just a creek and it looks like any other creek in the Ozarks. Then a few smaller boulders of granite appear, and all of a sudden...BOOM...these massive pieces are out and the shutins start.Kevins theory is that perhaps this is the top edge of a large angled section of rock that has acted as a dam and just filled up with gravel and junk over XXX millions of years.
