James Steel Park

Day 27 of 365

Forgot to charge my camera battery today so another iPhone shot.

This park is named after Sir James Steel, Lord Lieutenant of Tyne & Wear from 1974 - 1984 who was also chairman of Washington Development Corporation from 1964 until 1977.

The park stretches from the wildfowl and wetlands trust to Fatfield along the River Wear. Features of this park include a fresh water fishing lake, horse riding and cycling. Worm hill is also located in James Steel Park and is closely linked to the Lambton worm.

Taken on an iPhone 4 using ProHDR and tweaked using Camera+
