PW Robin Frequency Counter - Internal
A construction project which featured in "Practical Wireless" magazine and uses a classical "discrete logic" approach.
Advantage was taken of a kit of parts, I added a DC power supply, and some switching to suit my requirements.
As the unit usually sits on a shelf I decided that the mains supply should be connected via the front panel. This is a slightly unconventional arrangement, but one which seems to suit this particular application.
The counter can also run from a separate DC supply, switched via the front panel, and arrangement which probably doesn't meet any electrical safety regulations!
I added an visual indication of the gate time (a flashing LED) which helps when making adjustments to any "device under test"
