The very first production Dreamliner was delivered to ANA in 2011 as it flew from the Boeing Everett factory to Haneda. Its very first commercial flight was NRT to HKG later that year.
ANA and JAL are big customers of the 787 and in return Japanese manufacturers (like Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Subaru and Toray Industries) got big contracts to build parts of the aircraft.
