Chureito Pagoda, Fujiyoshida, 20191106

The Shogun is back on the scene and the Shogun was in the Empire of the Sun. The famous Chureito Pagoda shot with the 3776m high Mt. Fuji in the back. The shot had to be taken. I shot it.

The vulcano is covered in clouds or fog 3/4 of the year I was told. I was there on Wednesday the 6th and Thursday the 7th of November and the weather was all clear and blue. Luck? Well the entire holiday the weather was perfect, so somebody took care of me.

To get here, there is a free parking on ground level. You have to climb some stairs. I was there earlier at noon and light was hard but I thought: "I will get back at sunset for some better light and contrast." Sunset was 16:45 hours. I walked up at 16:00 hours and people were coming down the stairs. WTF are you people doing? The show is about to start! Loco-in-el-coco. It was packed! You are not allowed to bring your tripod on the observation platform. But some guys were next to the platform with their Mountaineer's and their grad filters. This is a 5 frame multishot exposure blended, handheld. More compression on Mt. Fuji would have been better but than I would loose the branches on top. This is what I got and I like it. youtu.be/VypT0m4xcgE?t=37

Get some vanilla-matcha soft serve on ground level. That stuff is delicious and will make climbing the steps a bit more bearable.
