Stripped Boeing 747-2, Speyer, 20170617

This is the stripped rear inside of a 747-2. Lots of insulation material on top. You can see the three seats on the right. A 747 has a 3-4-3 layout in economy class. If an aircraft has two aisles, it is called a wide-body. The 747 (1968!) was the first wide body.

 

If you imagine the overhead storage compartments left, right and center... there is not a lot of space left. Underneath the floor is the container space where your luggage is stored in containers. That is right below your seat! You can take a ladder down, see my other photo!
