Cedar Waxwing
Decided to venture out to the park today, "National Bird Watching Day". We decided on Latta Park in Charlotte, because it is supposed to be a crossroad on the migration north. Here is one I don't typically see in my hood. We came upon a Serviceberry Tree , and there were hundreds of them on it. They stayed only a few minutes. Update: It is now late December 2017, and we are seeing more and more Cedar Waxwings around central North Carolina. Shooting in backyard a couple of days ago and had about a dozen land in the River Birch above my head. Found a dead one on my front porch a few weeks ago, apparently the result of a collision with the windows.
