plane book read in melbourne - do so recommend...specially if you like murakami; it's about a man with half a shadow, who talks to cats, and faces johnnie walker, a man who uses cat's souls. of course, there's a damsel, but she's cleverly disguised and doesn't seem to need much rescueing. He's a funny writer, there's kind of a self conscious homage to dickens in this (i think, anyway) but more sex than the rest of his books put together (which was a surprise!)
