Swerve
The Transformers Generations Swerve and Flanker set is a tale of two approaches to neo-G1. Swerve is a fantastic little basic figure and a terrific update of a nondescript minibot. It pays homage to the blocky G1 robot aesthetic (without the Choro-Q vehicle deformation of the original), has a satisfying transformation and is decently articulated.
Flanker, on the other hand, is G1 at its worst: a disappointing cross between a Micromaster and a Targetmaster partner. Hasbro is obviously trying to add value to justify a higher price point but I'd prefer it if the pedestrian accessory was removed and the price point reduced. Swerve on his own would make a brilliant My First Transformer for a kid.
