Wichita Falls, Interstate 44 - 2/18/2010
Wichita Falls is easily the largest city on US 287 between Amarillo and Dallas, and is very close to the Oklahoma state line.
Wichita Falls is also I-44's western endpoint, though really it's more of a north/south highway between Wichita Falls and Oklahoma City. This can lead to some serious head scratching when "westbound" I-44 merges with southbound US 287 for a few miles before finally ending. The actual road is going southeast at this point!
