Black-billed Thrush Turdus ignobilis
The Black-billed Thrush is the most common Turdus thrush of disturbed habitats in western Amazonia and on the Guianan Shield. This species can be found in a wide-variety of habitats such as clearings, savannas with gallery woodland, cerrado, humid forest borders, shade coffee plantations, and various other anthropogenic habitats. This is a fairly drab, dark-billed species of Turdus. The two subspecies of the Guianan Shield are geographically isolated from the three subspecies found in the inter-Andean valleys of Colombia and in western Amazonia. A prolific songster, the Black-billed Thrush utters its fairly subdued series of typical Turdus phrases both at twilight and during the day.
