Blame!
Well, this is great! This little sticker was in the Ladies at my local pub. It seems Surfers Against Sewage (SAS ... see what they did? very macho!) would like to blame the working class women who use my local for dumping raw sewage into the sea.
Excuse me! surely no one in BS5 is a Director of Wessex Water. None of us make decisions about dumping raw sewage and I'm sure we don't dump any more than anyone else. Water companies should have safe procedures to deal with incidents regardless what caused it. Could be a dead rat or a Ninja turtle, for example.
I don't really like being shouted at in the "safety" of the Ladies loo. This sticker has not made me want to be careful what I flush. It has made me wonder if surfers don't mind the actual sewage (just the tampons). Maybe that's what causes those sunkissed blonde streaks in their hair.
