Female Northern Cardinal

This hand-held head shot is an example of the possibilities of the powerful lens of the point-and-shoot Nikon Coolpix B700. At 1440mm (35 mm focal lens equivalent) nothing looks far away and the potential to obtain different frame compositions really explode. In this case in a close shot of a female Northern Cardinal we can see details of her head and feathers that were not possible for me to obtain with by 300 mm lens on my DSLR camera at that distance. Point-and-shoot have come a long way and they are getting closer to DSLR cameras.
