FR2020 Quarantine

This huge spaceship has been designed during the weeks of lockdown in March/April 2020.

Instructions available here

The design owes some techniques to the master builder Nick Trotta, however the idea of the ship itself is completely original.

All began with the two large trans-yellow canopies which I wanted to use on a neoclassic space spaceship, so the design of the front was born.

It took quite a lot of time and effort to achieve a satisfying design with the correct slope and the right amount of details.

Designing the motors and integrate them in the wings was the next challange. Here I wanted something solid enough, and before the real build I was afraid it was going to collapse.

Then I designed the mechanism to have a good connection for the wings and I give them the correct shape .

Finally I completed the beast with the tail.

The real building process was less difficult than expected, especially regarding the structure soundness. The sequence of building steps is a little tricky and this will make the creation of instructions quite hard, however it is possible.

Last touch: some stickers to show my Spaceskull logo and to give a little extra detail.
