Reversing Falls - St. John, NB

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Falls is a bit of a misnomer, because the fairly deep water of the St. John River flows over a series of underwater ledges here, causing it to swirl and roil. The direction of water flow changes with the tides. We were lucky to see it at just that time. Emptying into The Bay of Fundy, with the world's highest tides, the change is very dramatic..... even the local birds enjoy watching the show.. (More on Fundy Tides later)
