Huge Hemlock Tree in Swallow Falls State Park, MD

A lovely park constructed by the CCC between 1933 and 1942. It contains Hemlock Trees that are over 300 years old. The park suffered much damage during Hurricane Sandy which dropped over 30 inches of wet snow. Over 3000 hours were invested in just clearing roads, trails and campsites in this park from some of the largest trees in Maryland after the storm.
