Yellow arrowleaf balsamroot (Balsamorhiza sagittata) dominates the hillside with patches of purple lupine (Lupinus polyphyllus) popping up. I was a little early as this year it has been much colder than usual, but still happy to finally get to this amazing place.
Dalles Mountain Ranch, a segment of Columbia Hills State Park is on the Washington side of the gorge. The property was deeded to the State of Washington in 1993 by Darlene and Pat Bleakney and became part of the Columbia Hills State Park in 2003
