Pico House
Named after Pío Pico, the last Governor of California under Mexican rule. He built this Hotel in 1868 on what is now El Pueblo de Los Angeles State Historic Monument. Interesting as he was of Spanish, Italian, African and Native American ancestry. Even under Mexican rule, it seemed there was greater tolerance back then, than under the American rule that followed.
