Pumice shapes under the Andes – Campo de Piedra Pómez, Antofagasta de la Sierra - Argentina

In the heart of Catamarca’s Puna, the natural sculptures of Campo de Piedra Pómez rise between 3,000 and 4,800 m, remnants of ancient eruptions carved by millennia of erosion. The chalk‑white forms contrast with dark lava slopes and Andean peaks, in a protected area since 2012 that is reached from El Peñón and Antofagasta de la Sierra.
