Chandni chowk is Old Delhi's famous shopping street. An always over-crowded wide and long avenue at the end of which the imposing Red Fort or Lal Qila can be seen. The Fort is one of Delhi's most famous monuments and a great example of the city's Mughal past. It was constructed between 1638 and 1648, under the rule of emperor Shah Jahan.
