The newshound's classic
This lovely Graflex Speed Graphic belongs to my missus, who bought it in America about twenty years ago. Neither of us has used it in the years since, being unsure exactly how it works. I've looked at various You Tube tutorials and it seems basically a simple camera, but I've no intention of taking up large format, so there is little incentive to make the necessary learning effort. Simple or no, there are many components and knobs and levers whose functions I don't understand. I am reluctant to experiment for fear of breaking something and ending up in the doghouse. It's a beautiful object and an exquisitely designed piece of mechanical gadgetry. Interesting that the lens is an Ektar, now the brand name of one of Kodak's colour print films.
