Modernist house, Bristol.

This house, in Sneyd Park, Bristol, was the work of Mark Hartland Thomas, one of the men from MARS ...the Modern Architecture Research Group. His father, Percival, was also an architect active in Bristol. It was built in 1935. Another Modernist house, by F. L. Cottle, also of 1935, can be seen in the background.

The house is on the rim of the Avon Gorge and was photographed from a great distance. For a view of the other side, facing the road, see www.flickr.com/photos/fray_bentos/309766631/in/set-721575...

The next photograph shows the house in its setting on the edge of the gorge.
