Modernist house, Downend, Bristol.

It looks as though these windows, rather unusually, have been renewed in wood. It certainly makes a change. The window alongside the front door is a metal-framed original. Since it is not exposed to the rain it has never rotted and never needed replacing. The Modernist device of using a pole to support a porch canopy is here carried through to the upper floor. The balcony railings are a near match with the gate.
