Leaving Taunton

Departure was always a noisy business with a "Western", especially so at stations where the canopy extended much towards the end of the platform. Here the 1330 London Paddington-Penzance train, with time to make up, isn't hanging about and produces some especially fine acoustics as it hurries away from Taunton. Still semaphore signals at that date, Monday 25th February 1974. Looks like a Class 31 further down the line.
