Jupiter late on 4 December 2012
As there has been little chance to do any night time astronomy in the southern part of England for most nights in the last few weeks I've been looking again at the long excellent session I had on 4 December, when Jupiter had just reached opposition. This is an image pocessed with my new method and trying to keep the colours more muted than in some of my images.
Although I had two nights in 2011 when I managed almost crystal clear images, this night and November 29 have so far been the best nights of 2012 and 2013 to date. As Jupiter is now moving further away I doubt it will be possible to get better images this time round, but if the weather ever relents, who knows!
