France, Paris, Montmartre, Le Consulat is another of the many charming bistros cafés & bar à vins on the Rue Norvins. The bistro has been open for decades & witnessed plenty of changes in the surrounding district over the years.

The café with typically French wines, an extensive beverage list & heritage French cuisine, offered in a vintage charm ambience, was visited by plenty of celebrated artists, writers & painters that flocked to the area in over decades, names of note include Picasso, Sisley, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec & Monet to name just a few.

The area on the Montmartre hill with many little bars, café’s, bistros & boutiques hidden in its winding cobbled lanes in the shadow of Sacré-Coeur

Originally a small village of mostly farming community, located in the 18th arrondissement, became also famous for its many artists who have been ubiquitous since around 1880. The name Montmartre derived from either “Mount of Martyrs” or from “Mount of Mars”. The basilica “Sacré-Coeur”, basilica of the Sacred Heart, is one of Paris's important tourist magnets; the majestic building is located on top of the Montmartre hill.
