Taking off!
I'm trying to stick with an ice skating series to share some of my doll skating outfits with you. I've had this vintage skating outfit from the Barbie 1600 series for a few years, but today is the first I've put it on a doll. I've got it on my first American Girl Barbie. She is named Irene because she arrived during hurricane Irene. All original paint. I keep her hair in a sleeve to keep it trained.
We have a snow day from school today so I am getting some much needed doll play time.
American Girl Barbie
Vintage Barbie Skater’s Waltz #1629 (1965-1966)
I have the pantyhose that go with this, but don't dare try to put them on a rubbery leg doll. I remember getting this for a good buy it now price. It is usually expensive.
Outfit reference: www.fashion-doll-guide.com/Vintage-Barbie-Skaters-Waltz.html
Printed background
The background is 4 pieces of normal printer paper glued together. I made each piece in Microsoft Publisher, printed, and glued them with a glue stick. It is rolled beneath her feet. 4 pieces is still a little short to be the background and the floor, but it worked. Barbie is getting a chance to skate!
