Trying to think of something new and fancy for my Art&Design prep work pages. I brought home a load of this tracing paper-like plastic, shiny on one side and matt on the other. So I thought that normal white sheets of paper stuck onto black card looks crap tbh so why not cut a hole in the page, keeping it nicely in proportion to the rest of the layout, print the type onto the plastic tracing paper and put said paper behind the whole, making a sort of translucent panel of type that is still legible :) Works quite well I think, needlessly tedious but adds a nice detail to the layouts.
The ink takes hours to dry, i smudged it a little by accident and decided to work it accross the whole title for a sort of grungy look, the particular page it was for was on one of the homeless guys I met in Belfast but it was really because im clumbsy lol
Got the computer back today, unfortunately they couldnt recover ANYTHING from the broken hard drive which means I lose all of my photographs from late 2009 amoungst other things. Yes that sucks, yes that includes my art coursework pictures from Belfast, no i hadn't made my regular CD backup in time before it crashed.
I would really appreciate someone donating a macbook to me atm. lol
One thing thats good though, they installed a new drive, 320GB over the old 200GB and its got a clean install which means it's zippy fast, However its VERY bare so its taken since 6:30pm-ish to get things installed/updated etc.
Another thing is I have a clean My Documents to work with, Pete McD kindly donated his Lightroom 2 which means I can (if me and LR can get along again) make a much more organised file (and backup) system. Meaning I can actually find my pictures if I need them lol.
I might be having an impromptu work experience with ThOnda tomorrow, he has a shoot in the morning and has invited me to tag along :) It also might mean I can re-take some pictures in Belfast to grapple-back what i can from the photography side of my art coursework. This book must be filled with photographs!
However if I don't have tomorrow's installement made you can assume that I have been kidnapped by him. No really.
