A New Year - A New Camera! Minolta X-700

A camera that has been on my wish list to add to my little collection of classic Minolta cameras was the X-700. I finally found a very nice example at a reasonable price - with the resurgence in film photography it's most surprising how much is being asked for some of these old cameras!

The Minolta X-700 is a 35 mm single-lens reflex film camera introduced by Minolta in 1981. It was the top model of their final manual-focus SLR series before the introduction of the auto-focus Minolta Maxxum 7000.

In 1981, the X-700 was awarded the European "Camera of the Year". Its competitive pricing resulted in it becoming the most successful Minolta camera since the SRT line.

In 1999, after 18 years in production, the X-700 was discontinued.
