Sir:

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt from your Office of application for Pension ["No." struck], and to return it herewith, with such information as is furnished by the files of this Office.

It appears from the Rolls on file in this Office, that Phillip Berrry [sic] was enrolled on the 26" day of August, 1862, at Buffalo NY in Co. D, 164 Regiment of New York Volunteers, to serve three years, or during the war, and mustered into service as a Sergeant on the 19" day of November 1862, at Newport News, in Co. D, 164th Regiment of New York Volunteers, to serve three years, or during the war. On the Muster ^out Roll of Co. D of that Regiment, ["for the months of" struck] dated July 15", 1865, he is repored "In Hospital at Philadelphia Pa. wounded in action June 3" 1864".

This is Evidently the man enquired for, - No Record of death on file.
